Graphic Designer | 2021 – 2023

The City of Boise is a local government organization committed to fostering a livable, inclusive, and sustainable community for all residents. Under the leadership of Mayor Lauren McLean, the city has prioritized civic engagement, environmental stewardship, and accessible public services.

The Challenge

The City needed a flexible, in-house designer to bring clarity and cohesion to communications across diverse departments and public initiatives. With priorities ranging from housing and climate action to arts and infrastructure, the design work had to be both consistent and community-focused.

My Role

As Graphic Designer, I collaborated with internal communications and department leads to design branded materials for city programs, public outreach, events, and internal campaigns. I worked under the guidance of Communications leadership and played a key role in translating complex policy and program goals into accessible, visually engaging deliverables.

Key Contributions

  • Visual Consistency: Created templates and design systems to unify materials across departments while respecting content flexibility.

  • Campaign Support: Designed assets for high-visibility initiatives such as housing outreach, green infrastructure planning, and cultural programming.

  • Public-Facing Materials: Produced signage, event collateral, and promotional graphics that helped inform, engage, and connect with Boise residents.

  • Internal Communication Tools: Developed branded internal documents and resources to improve team alignment and employee experience.

Impact

  • Supported multiple award-winning or citywide initiatives with visual storytelling that improved public engagement.

  • Helped build trust through design by aligning tone, accessibility, and brand presence across city communications.
